Steeple Langford May Newsletter 2017
Throughout April we looked at a Spring theme. The children across all the age groups were planting flowers and vegetables, looking at life cycles and baby animals. We are looking forward to watching our plants grow and making some meals from the lovely vegetables which we can harvest later in the year.
We are currently working on our Secret Garden, the planting we have been doing has helped to create a sensory area behind the yurt which we hope will encourage some more wildlife for the children to watch in our environment.
We were very lucky at Easter, the Easter Bunny arrived and left us some special eggs all over our field. The children enjoyed their Easter Egg Hunt and cuddling the Easter Bunny. The children made Easter bonnets and Easter cards for their families and we all enjoyed the nice long weekend with beautiful weather.
Our Top Conkers discovered that our Newts have returned to our pond again this year, we have been pond dipping to see the baby Newts and have been talking about keeping them safe as there are not many of them left.
Throughout May we will be looking at Occupations. Our children will be learning about various job roles and how they benefit our world around us. We will also be talking about what our parents do whilst we are here playing at Farley. 😊
This is our year to hold the Farley Festival and July will be here before we know it! You may notice a few changes around the nursery, some colourful additions popping up here and there. We are having an Alice In Wonderland theme this year, lots of crazy ideas, fun activities and musical games to be enjoyed on the day. We would like to ask all of our parents to have a look in your cupboards at home and if you happen to have any tea pots or cups and saucers that you could donate to us then we would be most grateful.
We will be sending out save the date cards to remind you of our Festival date of July 15th but please start to let the staff know if you are able to come and if you would like to camp overnight I the field.
