Sparsholt April Newsletter 2017
Spring fever has been in the air and with Easter nearly upon us we can only but hope for warm sunny days over the Easter holidays.
March was an exciting month with the flowers starting to bloom and the layers of clothes starting to come off. Top Conker had a great time learning all about the life cycle of a frog, watching the tadpoles grow legs and swim around (we are still waiting for the frog bit!). Our under 2’s have been experimenting with lots if sensory play and our children from Bee Garden have been learning all about different fairy tales!
We were lucky enough to have a visit from our local PSCO’s. The police officers let the children ride in the police car, try on uniform and listen to road safety stories.
The Mothers Day Tea party was a great success, a huge thank you to all the mums who turned out for our mini tough mudder event, we didn’t make the course too hard for you all! Luckily the mums then could relax with tea and cakes afterwards. Thank you to Lou for baking all the wonderful cakes! As the whole event was to raise money for Red Nose Day, we raised £300, so well done everyone.
With Easter approaching all the children will be creating some marvellous Easter activities, such as egg hunts, bunny ears and boiled egg races, I know we will have a cracking time!!
Last year we had a fabulous vegetable garden over the summer. So, Top Conker have been extremely busy planting lots of seeds that will hopefully turn into vegetables. With carrots, courgettes, potatoes and tomatoes all set go Top Conker will keep you posted of the growing progress.
We are now selling sweatshirts (10.50) and t-shirts (£5) ready for the summer so please come into the office and collect one for your child so they are kitted out for the sunshine.
Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram farleynurseryschool_sparsholt for all the best pictures of everything the children from Sparsholt have been up to throughout the day.
Just a reminder of a change of date… SPORTS DAY is now Wednesday 12th July at 3pm.
Also keep free Friday 21st July for our Celebration Day... more to come later!
To make you are all aware, we have some changes to the site coming up. The baby room will be taken down for just over 2 weeks. The yurt is having some structural repairs and the white cover will be cleaned while it is off. This enables us to resurface the base in preparation for the coming winter. We are also extending the baby yurt, putting a sleeping pod which will go at the back. While all the repairs and ground works are taking place, the baby room children and staff will base themselves in Top Conker. So, I here you ask?! What is going to happen to Top Conker? All the Top Conker children and staff will have a special new yurt base on the field just for those few weeks.
