Farley April 2017 Newsletter
Well, what lovely warm weather we have been having!! Of course, we are waiting for the spring showers to come but it has been lovely for the children to play in their uniforms rather than their waterproofs.
The garden is looking beautiful at the moment, Louise has been busy tidying up the flowerbeds and the Top Conker children have been planting. The children have also planted some onions and rhubarb in the vegetable garden. If you have any spare plants or vegetables at home that we could put into our flowerbeds we will very gratefully receive them, thank you.
The children dressed up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day 2017, we even had our pictures printed in the Salisbury Journal.
The Mother’s Day Tea was a huge success, around 40 Mums attended and we all enjoyed a cup of tea, slice of cake and good natter in the lovely warm spring sunshine. We were so lucky with the weather that it made the occasion even more enjoyable. Thank you to all those that attended.
We have raised a whopping £100 for Comic Relief. The children all donated a few pennies on Red Nose Day and wore red. Thank you for your generosity.
Easter is fast approaching and we look forward to welcoming our Farley Rangers back again.
We will also be holding a competition for the ‘best decorated egg’. The closing date for judging will be THURSDAY 13th APRIL 2017, the winners will be announced on Tuesday 18th April. There will be a prize for each age group. Remember, we WILL know if the egg has been decorated by an adult and not a child! I will however open a category for staff and parents!! Here’s what to do;
Boil an egg at home, decorate with your child, bring into nursery by Thursday 13th April in a box labelled with your child’s name
I would like to remind parents that if you require extra sessions or to extend your session at the beginning or the end of the day we require advance notice please. If you turn up with your child it puts the team in a very difficult position and, as you are very aware we have strict ratios that we legally must abide to. I do understand that things can pop up expectantly however and we will accommodate your needs where possible.
If your child is over two years old then uniform in mandatory, please speak to your child’s keyperson or Jo who will be happy to help you purchase the Farley Uniform. We now have Farley sweatshirts which are super snuggly and soft. Children are required to wear uniform every time they attend Farley please.
The weather is also becoming warmer although the mornings can still be chilly. Please make sure that your child is dressed accordingly and please check the weather to make sure that you have packed appropriate spare clothing. Please make sure your child has shoes as well as wellies and that they are equipped with a thin waterproof. The children are becoming very hot in their winter, fleece lined waterproofs but still need a thin waterproof layer when it is dewy in the morning (or for spring showers).
A general reminder about uniform and spare clothes.
We have some new team members I would like to welcome.
Eloise and Katie have both joined the Under Twos. Eloise has come to us from another local nursery, she has three years of experience working with children and has recently completed her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Katie also has several years of teaching and care experience and comes to us with a BA Honours in Early Years.
Tom has also joined the team, he will be based in Bee Garden and Top Conker. Tom has recently returned from a trip to Japan where he lived for several months and taught English to children aged 0-6years. The children already adore him.
All the best from Nic and all of the team at Farley.
