Farley March 2017 Newsletter
Our children have been relishing the (slightly) warmer weather, sunshine and the evenings drawing out. The frogs have woken and are croaking, it feels like spring is finally in the air.
Top Conker have been busy collecting bugs and had fun going into the pond area to take a closer look and listen to the frogs. They are eagerly awaiting the frogspawn as they first hand learn all about the life cycle of a frog.
The most fun was certainly had on Pancake Day. The children took part in pancake races pancake tossing competitions! Suji, our cook, prepared pancakes with a variety of sweet and savoury toppings for the children to try.
We would like to introduce ‘litter free lunches’ for all of the children. At Farley we try to be as green as possible, we recycle every week and upcycle lots of different materials. Rather than sending food in different packaging which produces lots of rubbish please try pop the food into reusable containers that can be washed every night ready for the next day. We feel this will help teach the children about the importance of looking after the environment and taking care of our planet.
Throughout March we are celebrating literacy so, on Thursday 2nd March please dress your child up as their favourite book character for World Book Day.
On Monday 27th March we will be hosting a Mother’s Day Tea, all mummies are welcome to join us for tea and cake, usually we have it in the village hall but if the weather is nice we will do it in the nursery. This will take place between 2pm and 5pm.
The Dads Breakfast is on Saturday 17th June 10am -12pm. This is a chance for dads to bring the children in for some den building activities and let mum stay in bed!
The date for Sports Day has now changed to Wednesday 19th July, this is a week later than originally planned, please pop the date into your diary as it is one of the most exciting events in our Farley year!!
Keep an eye on the Farley Diary as I will be confirming the date and activities for Celebration Day soon, this is another fun event that we host in July, a celebration for all our Farley families.
As always, if you would like to donate your time to share a special talent with are children, or just do something easy like read a story it is always appreciated and the children love to have visitors in the nursery. Please chat with your child’s key person to arrange a date.
Also, a kind reminder that when you arrange your children’s sessions with us at Farley, we require you to collect your child during these session times. For example, with a session booked between 9 and 5, your child can be dropped off anytime after 9 o’clock and picked up anytime before 5 o’clock. We like to give you a detailed handover about your child’s day and what exciting activities they have experienced with us and if you are not here in sufficient time before the end of their session unfortunately you will miss out on this valuable information.
All the best from Nic and all of the team at Farley.
