About Farley Nursery Schools
Daily life at Farley is child-led and above all, fun. Although we follow the current guidelines set down by the Government in the Early Years Foundation Stage, we have wonderful practitioners that are experienced in using every opportunity to give the child a meaningful learning experience and develop play into learning.
Children are encouraged to spend much of their time outside – planting, growing, nurturing, investigating, and exploring; helping them gain awareness of, and respect for their environment.

The team is led by Sue Palmer BA (hons), a fully qualified teacher and an Early Years Professional, who has worked in early years for over 20 years. Sue is passionate about Outdoor Learning and has spoken at and chaired conferences on the subject all over the UK. Sue speaks to students at Winchester University regularly as part of their teacher training and has held workshops at Farley to help other early years professional gain an understanding of what can be achieved in this age group.

In the background for much of the past six years, Sue’s husband Gary has now joined the team full time after a twenty year career with John Lewis and Waitrose. Previously only let out on special occasions; narrating the Nativity or cooking up the sausages for the Dads breakfast, Gary is now involved in developing the business allowing Sue to concentrate on the children and the curriculum.
A truly exceptional team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals supervises rooms at both settings; meet them on the dedicated page for each setting.
